For those of you unable to make our annual meeting this March, we had a good turnout of 30 or so members, friends, and neighbors. We also saw several of our elected officials in attendance including Mayor Sheehan, Treasurer Darius Shahinfar, County Legislator Andrew Joyce and Councilman Joe Igoe. Please mark your calendars for ou 7th Annual Meeting. Bradley D. Grant, Barton & Loguidice, P.E. will present the findings and mitigation strategies for Buckingham Pond. Commissioner Joseph E. Coffey, Jr. P.E., City of Albany Dept. Of Water and Water Supply, will discuss what needs to be done next. If you would like to be nominated to be a member of the Board of Directors please complete the nomination form and send to Nominating Committee, PO Box 8352 before 3/19/2016. Also, 2016 Membership dues are $25 . Please mail or bring it to the meeting. Thanks.

Save the Date!

It has been an amazing and long winter everywhere and certainly here at Buckingham Pond! Now that the ice and snow are finally melting, we turn our attention to Spring. Officially, Spring starts Friday, March 20th. We have several activities tht will begin, this year in April, due to the early holidays of Passover and Easter.

Please save April 19th on your calendars. This is the date of our Annual Membership Meeting.

The week after our Annual Meeting we will be fighting invasive species at our Annual Spring Cleanup on April 26th!

Annual Meeting: Sunday March 30 1:00 PM

The fifth annual meeting of the Buckingham Pond Conservancy will be held SUNDAY, March 30, 2014 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. At our formation In 2009, 35 people came together to found the Buckingham Pond Conservancy. Since then we've grown in size and continue to coordinate clean ups, host social events, find grant opportunities, build relationships with City staff, sample the pond's water (3 years going on 4), installed storm drain medallions, and so much more.

Annual Meeting Summary

This year's annual meeting marks a real turning point for the Buckingham Pond Conservancy.   We start a new era as Harry Ermides takes the helm as president.   I hope all of you will join me in welcoming Harry to his new role!

In 2009 35 people came together to found the Buckingham Pond Conservancy.  Since then we've grown in size and capacity - coordinating clean ups, hosting social events, finding grants to help the pond, building relationships with City staff, sampling the pond's water, installing storm drain medallions, and so much more.  Each year we come together just one time to celebrate our successes and revisit our priorities.  Be a part of it!
