Greetings friends of Buckingham Pond Conservancy!

As we enter the back-to-school season we have a few updates for you.

Everyone’s favorite early autumn event, the Buckingham Pond Ice Cream Social will be Sunday, September 11 from 1-3 pm! The ice cream is on us, and all donations received at this event help the Conservancy in our continued efforts to enhance and preserve our park. We look forward to seeing you!

Please note that the Albany Water Department is coordinating Japanese Knotweed herbicide treatment that will be applied in early September – likely the week of September 12.

We have been noticing a number of park maintenance challenges lately and heard concerns from some neighbors. The board is working with neighbors, the Department of General Service, and Common Council member Deb Zamer to come up with a longer-term solution. As always if you are interested in helping or hearing the latest, we welcome you to join our monthly board meetings which are on the fourth Monday of every month.
