Buckingham Pond, Support Hero Image

There are many ways to volunteer
with the Buckingham Park Conservancy.

To make sure you are alerted to any of these opportunities, please subscribe to our mailing list, and mention in the “Suggestions” field how you would like to help, or reach out to us
at [email protected].

ORGANIZED WORKDAYS
Twice a year (typically in May & November) we organize a park cleanup and workday. Tools are provided by the Department of General Services, though volunteers are invited to bring their own clippers and gloves.

Upcoming Organized Opportunities
Spring Clean-up – Typically month of May, Sundays 1-3pm
Fall Clean-up – Typically month of October/November, Sundays 1-3pm

INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER WORKDAYS
All are welcome to join us for Individual Volunteer Workdays to help with removing invasive species. An area of focus over the last few years has been the removal and management of invasive Garlic Mustard. Typically held from May to August, these events will be advertised on flyers around the pond, on this website, and via our social media platforms, or let us know at [email protected], and we can add you to the list of folks we contact directly for these efforts.

ATTEND BOARD MEETINGS
The best way to find out what we are working on right now and see how you can help is to attend our monthly board meeting. All members and guests are welcome, and board meetings are held virtually on the fourth Monday of each month. Email us at [email protected] to receive a virtual meeting link.

PARK STEWARD PROGRAM
The Conservancy is working to develop a Park Steward program that provides training and support to park users who want to become leaders to maintain specific sections of the trail/grounds. Volunteer Park Stewards complete 1-2 days of training, followed by a set number of hours (to be determined) of volunteer service throughout the year. More details will be shared as they become available.
