Annual Meeting: Sunday March 30 1:00 PM

The fifth annual meeting of the Buckingham Pond Conservancy will be held SUNDAY, March 30, 2014 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. At our formation In 2009, 35 people came together to found the Buckingham Pond Conservancy. Since then we've grown in size and continue to coordinate clean ups, host social events, find grant opportunities, build relationships with City staff, sample the pond's water (3 years going on 4), installed storm drain medallions, and so much more.

Annual Meeting Summary

This year's annual meeting marks a real turning point for the Buckingham Pond Conservancy.   We start a new era as Harry Ermides takes the helm as president.   I hope all of you will join me in welcoming Harry to his new role!

Annual Meeting Recap

Our Sunday March 25th Annual Meeting brought out between 50 and 60 BPC members to reflect on our successes to date and review priorities for next year.  Here's a brief recap of the agenda for those who weren't there:

Water Testing Beginning

Posted in

BPC is participating this year in the Citizens Statewide Lake Assessment Program (CSLAP). CSLAP is a volunteer lake monitoring program run by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and the NYS Federation of Lake Associations, Inc. (NYSFOLA).

If you see people at the pond with test tubes and equipment this summer, it's probably us!

Water Testing Volunteers Needed and Boat Sought

Posted in

We're looking for volunteers to help with our summer water testing effort. You'd need to be available one or two Saturday or Sunday mornings a month from June through October, and for about an hour and half each time you participate. This water testing is critical to our long term goal of understanding and improving the water quality at the pond. We need your help to make this happen.
