Lake Management Plan

Don't Be Surprised by Low Water Levels

Don't be surprised if you notice low water levels in the pond. This is actually good news! The water department is doing some shore-line stabilization and needed to lower the water level by about 6". This is a temporary change ...water levels will soon return to normal.

This work is funded by donations to BPC including a substantial anonymous donation. Thanks to all of our donors, and special thanks to you Anonymous! Another great example of BPC and the City working together for improvements at the Pond.

Lake Management Plan for Buckingham Pond

Developed in 2015, this plan is a key part of the BPC strategy to improve water quality.
The plan was paid for by BPC, and developed by Barton & Loguidice engineers, with the assistance of the City of Albany's Water Department. Many thanks to the Hudson River Valley Greenway and the Bender Family Foundation, as well as to BPC's many members and friends for making this  plan possible.

Great Annual Meeting

Thanks to everyone who attended the Buckingham Pond Conservancy Annual Meeting, this past Sunday, April 3rd.

Happy Holidays

On behalf of the Board of Directors I would like to wish everyone the best of the holiday season and thank you all for your support of the Buckingham Pond Conservancy. We have come along way over the last five years and could not have accomplished our goals without your financial and moral support.

Why you may see scientists at the pond this Fall

Behind the scenes, Buckingham Pond Conservancy has been making major progress towards our key goal of developing a strategic plan for water quality at the pond. This strategic plan should put us in position to access state and federal grant funds to implement the projects identified during the planning process.

2011 Annual Meeting Report

What do a tug of war, a free-range organic car wash and an evening of jazz have in common? ...They were all fundraising ideas brainstormed at the Buckingham Pond Annual Meeting last Sunday.
