What do a tug of war, a free-range organic car wash and an evening of jazz have in common? …They were all fundraising ideas brainstormed at the Buckingham Pond Annual Meeting last Sunday.

What do a tug of war, a free-range organic car wash and an evening of jazz have in common? …They were all fundraising ideas brainstormed at the Buckingham Pond Annual Meeting last Sunday.

We thank the 30 or so brave souls who came out in the drizzly cold rain. It was a great meeting, full of ideas and energy. In addition to a creative ten minute fundraising brainstorming session, we got a snapshot of the membership’s priorities for 2011. High marks went to continuing routine clean ups, developing a storm drain stenciling initiative, working on community education about how storm water and fertilizer impact the pond, and finding a consultant to help us fully evaluate how to improve the pond’s water quality.

You can catch up on all the great work we did in 2010 and see all the project and fundraising ideas by reading the meeting handouts and notes which are all available here: www.buckinghampondconservancy.org/2011-annual-meeting-documents.

If you missed the meeting, it’s not too late to contribute your ideas, or volunteer to help. Just email us at [email protected].

Looking for an easy way to help? Renew your membership at Join. A membership is only $5 per adult in your household, but if you can, please give more. We do amazing work with an all volunteer organization, and as we enter our third year, many of our priority projects will take money to accomplish. Also, please welcome our new board member. Eric Randall will be taking over for Paula Martinez who has been relocated to Kentucky for a year.
