Native Planting & Shoreline Stabilization Area

You are invited to become a founding member of the Buckingham Pond Conservancy, a newly forming non-partisan group dedicated to protecting, preserving, and enhancing Buckingham Pond Park. While members of the Conservancy will determine its activities, we envision a group that works closely with Albany City departments to plan improvements and provide assistance when appropriate. Likely areas of focus would be trees and other plantings, trails, water quality, traffic, playground, etc. If you would like to help establish the Conservancy we hope you can come to our first meeting, a brown bag lunch, at noon on Saturday, January 24th at Bethany Reformed Church on New Scotland Avenue at Lenox Avenue. Please join us and bring a sandwich and your thoughts and energy. We’ll provide hot and cold drinks. If you can’t come, but would like to participate, let us know at AlbanyBPC@gmail or 518-522-6494. With the world in crisis and the economy in turmoil it may not sound like much to work for the future of a small pond and a few acres of land. But it is something we can each do to make this part of the world better place. Steering Committee
