Dear Friend,

Please mark your calendar for our annual Skating Party and our Annual Meeting.

The skating party is a wonderful time to reconnect with friends and neighbors and enjoy our pond in the wintertime. Co-hosted by the City of Albany Recreation Department, the party will be held on a Sunday in February from 1 pm to 3 pm. The Recreation Department checks the ice regularly, and the party will be held when (and if!) the ice is safe. Please consider marking the skating party on your calendar tentatively for both Sunday February 12th and Sunday 26th from 1 pm to 3 pm. Keep an eye on our website, instagram, and facebook page for updates!

Also, we are planning our Annual Meeting for Sunday, March 26 at 1:00 pm. The location is still to be determined, but we are aiming for an in-person meeting this year after several years of virtual annual meetings and wanted to get the date to you so you can put it on your calendar.

Meanwhile, if you are interested in taking a more active role with the Conservancy, please reach out. We have many ongoing projects including hands-on work like removing invasive species and planting water-filtering native species, as well as opportunities for coordination and advance work, such as planning our Spring Cleanup, and partnering with the City for improvements to the park. All members are always welcome to attend board meetings – our next board meeting is Monday, February 27th at 7 PM. Reach out to [email protected] for more information.

Finally, a reminder that our membership year runs from April 1 to March 30. We’ll be reaching out by postal mail with a renewal notice and final information on the annual meeting, but meanwhile, we welcome you to renew your $25/adult membership online by credit card, or by check to Buckingham Pond Conservancy, PO Box 8352 Albany NY 12208

Thanks for your continued support!
