
Board Meetings
This page provides access to board meeting agendas and minutes for the past two fiscal years.
Board meetings are open to any member of the conservancy and are generally held on the 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 PM. We continue to hold virtual meetings via Zoom or in-person at Pine Hills Library. Please email [email protected] if you would like attendance information.
Annual Meeting 2024

2024 Work Completed & In Progress
- Launched the new and improved Buckingham Pond Conservancy website.
- Initiated a Park Steward pilot program, where we members volunteer to individually maintain sections of the trail and report back to the Board on work completed.
- Held successful Spring and Fall Cleanups, which brought together more than 40 volunteers to help keep the pond and park at its best, and planted tulip bulbs in the parking circle (thanks once again to DGS)
- Board member Mark Schlessman has been leading efforts to manage the garlic mustard near Rafts Way & Milner Avenue
- Another CSLAP season completed; Pond Water Quality testing through NYSDEC and NYSFOLA
- Working with Eagle Scout EJ Verhoff and with the financial support of DGS, sign panels have been updated and a new sign installed at Rafts Way. The BPC is working on signage for those panels to tell the ecological story of the pond.

- Spring/Summer/Fall Cleanups and Bittersweet & Garlic Mustard Maintenance
- Launched pilot program for “Park Stewards” to train neighbors to maintain sections of the park grounds
- Ice Cream Social
- Another CSLAP season completed; Pond Water Quality testing through NYSDEC and NYSFOLA
- CFA Grant Application with City of Albany endorsement for $500,000 for Path Improvements, Green Infrastructure at Parking Lot, and 250’ of shoreline improvements and native planting habitats
- Awarded Albany County Legislative Grant of $2375 for additional native plantings (Thank you to County Legislator Gary Domalewiczfor sponsoring our application).
- Advocacy for “Party Pit” cleanup with DGS (Thanks Sara Hart)
- Progress toward new website
